This lot contains a Original Framed Oil On Board Ballantrae Ayrshire Scotland By American Painter William Baptiste Baird. Baird was born in Chicago in 1867. He trained in Paris under Adolphe Yvan. During his career, he exhibited at the official Paris Salon and the Royal Academy in London. He is known for his landscape paintings of rural subjects and cattle. Baird also commonly painted “farmyard subjects such as hens, chicks and rabbits.” The frame is approx 24 1/2" x 1 1/2" x 20 1/2" while the board is approx 14" x 18". Total weight is 5lbs. Overall the artwork is in good used condition with no holes or cracks in the board. The frame is in good used condition with some small chips and cracks along the border. The Board has come loose from the frame and will need to be reset. This can be seen in the images. Please reference all of the photographs as they are a part of the description.
