This lot contains a 17th Century Indian Drawing "Capricorn".

The drawing was originally purchased from Dulau & Company in London England on March 4th 1936. Dulau & Co is a publishing company of travel and anthropological texts. The company is the major supplier of modern reference books on art to the British Museum. According to the British Museum they once sold prints and drawings in a minor way. The drawing depicts the capricornus constellation. In Latin Capricornus means "Horned Goat".  This drawing is similar to those done by Abd al-Rahman al-Sufi in the Kitab suwar al-kawakib al-thabita (Book of the Images of the Fixed Stars) of al-Sufi.

Overall the drawing is in excellent condition considering age and some light shelf wear. There are two small tears in the lower right corner. The frame has some chips/cracks along the edges. Please reference all of the photographs as they are a part of the description.
