The Disney Fair was a $27 million traveling show, containing special effects and character live stage show, exhibits, games, and shops under three tents, created to appear at state fairs in the US and Canada. It first appeared at the Washington State Fair in Puyallup, September 6-22, 1996 (which is where this ticket is from), then later in Arizona. The presence at local fairs was intended to drive many of the people that lived in the local area to visit one of the Disney Parks in the future. However, this extravaganza was short-lived; instead of continuing with the 12 planned state fairs across the US and Canada, the show was reworked as DisneyFest and sent overseas in 1997 to test receptiveness to the Asian market, which helped support the case for opening both Hong Kong and Shanghai Disneylands.
