Traditional African gourd vessel with leather binding and a strap, possibly made from animal hide, accompanied by a carved wooden drinking cup. Likely attributed to the Turkana people of Kenya. The gourd features stitched seams, animal-hide reinforcement, and a braided carrying strap. Surface wear, cracking, and losses to the hide are consistent with age and use. The accompanying cup shows a worn surface and patina. Both pieces display age-related wear and handling.
