Traditional Nguni hide shield constructed from cowhide, attributed to Zulu culture of South Africa. Oval form with natural hair-on hide showing typical brown and cream patterning. Reverse with leather lacing and remnants of attachment straps. Exhibits age, dryness, cracking, and wear consistent with use and storage.
