Hand-painted Talavera pottery chess set from Puebla, Mexico, featuring figural ceramic pieces in blue and yellow glaze. Includes full set of 32 pieces with stylized human face motifs and traditional forms.
Board is composed of ceramic tiles set in a wooden frame, marked “Talavera Puebla Mexico” on edge. Piece bases retain original “Hecho en Mexico” labels. Some minor chips and surface wear consistent with use, including small glaze loss on a few pieces. The board and frame show light wear. Please reference all photos for full details.
