Pair of polished mixed-stone marble obelisks in a strong architectural form, consistent with Mid-Century Modern and Art Deco revival design aesthetics. Each example is vertically faceted with clean geometric planes and a pointed obelisk top, executed in banded sections of contrasting fossiliferous stone and lighter marble. The natural stone displays visible fossil inclusions, veining, and organic patterning in tones of beige, taupe, gray, and brown, creating a striking linear composition.
Both are solid, flat-bottomed, and free-standing, suitable for use as desk paperweights or purely decorative architectural objects. Unmarked. Surface wear and natural stone characteristics are consistent with the material and age. These items are in pre-owned, previously displayed condition with light wear, markings, and surface scratches.
