1987 Roberto Brambilla Chinese Lady W Fan Figurine. Roberto Brambilla Porcelain Chinese Lady With Fan. Originally released in 1987 and designed by Nuova Thea, This Porcelain figure shows a very well-to-do and very well-dressed Chinese Lady holding a fan. Fans were not made to cool one-off, but to show the status and power of the user. Fans with poems or paintings on them serve as an artistic symbol for social status. A hand-painted figure stands on a wood base. Figure is approx 8" x 5" x 12 1/2". The figure appears to have been damaged and repaired at one time (neck/head and headdress and hands).
