Traditional Japanese cast iron teapot, produced using sand-casting methods consistent with long-standing Japanese ironwork traditions. The teapot features a rounded body with a short spout, fitted lid, and an arched wire handle wrapped with a coiled grip. Finished in a mottled brown surface with natural wear consistent with age and use.
The accompanying original instruction slip explains proper seasoning and care, noting that the teapot was intended for regular kitchen use in Japan and should be boiled and dried after use to prevent moisture retention. Interior shows expected surface oxidation consistent with iron teapots. No visible maker’s mark observed. This item is in good pre-owned, previously displayed condition with light wear and surface markings. Please reference all photos for full details.
