Grand Marnier "May Your Winter Be a Wonderland" 1983 Original by Isadore Seltzer
Original gouache on paper painting by Isadore Seltzer for the Grand Marnier ad "May Your Winter Be A Wonderland". Completed circa 1982 for a new ad campaign by TBWA Advertising for Carillon Importers to create more excitement and brand awareness for the luxurious orange liqueur. These ads were featured in hundreds of magazines throughout the 1980s, and served to make Grand Marnier a household name instead of a niche spirit.
Isadore Seltzer was hired to create a surrealist vibe, reminiscent of Renee Magritte. The color palette used in this series features hues of orange and purple, creating striking contrasts and bringing magazine readers’ attention to the bottle of Grand Marnier.
Seltzer had a long career in illustration doing everything from advertisements, books, magazines, album covers, and even occasional graphic work for Playboy.
The artwork itself is in excellent condition with some scratches and nicks on the frame. Please see photos as they are the best description of condition.
